Amnesty in Oxfam hire

Amnesty International has appointed a senior comms man from Oxfam to the newly created post of senior director of campaigns and comms.

Thomas Schultz-Jagow will join Amnesty in March, based at the organisation's International Secretariat in London.

He joins Amnesty from Oxfam GB where he is currently director of comms, having previously held the role of director of campaigns at the charity.

Schultz-Jagow has also worked as director of comms at WWF and for Greenpeace in Germany.

Amnesty International secretary-general Salil Shetty said: 'We look forward to working with Thomas to drive forward high-impact campaigns and comms at a time when the fight for human rights around the world is so important to millions of people as they stand up against repression and injustice.'

Schultz-Jagow said he had admired Amnesty for 'many years', adding: 'It will be a privilege to lead the merger of Amnesty International's campaigns and comms work at a time when the organisation is focusing on growth in the global south.'
