Monitor’s head of media and stakeholder relations Veena Hudson is set to move on from the regulator to an undisclosed new job.

The news comes at a crucial time for Monitor, as it becomes a financial regulator with a duty to ensure that all healthcare providers do not show anti-competitive behaviour.

A source told PRWeek that in the first round of responses, Monitor received around 20 CVs to replace Hudson, but none of the applicants had enough media relations experience. Hudson did not comment on this.

She will be replaced by an interim head who will report to director of public affairs and comms Sue Meeson.
