INTERNATIONAL: BORDER LINES - DC Ketchum wins Firestone

WASHINGTON: Ketchum has taken on the Firestone account following

the resignation of Fleishman-Hillard (PR Week UK, 15 September). The

account is believed to be worth up to pounds 1.4 million a month in

fees, with around 50 staffers assigned to it. After a meeting with

Firestone, Mark Schannon, director of Ketchum's Washington office, said:

'We came away confident it (Firestone) is willing to do what it takes to

turn this situation around.' Ketchum is setting up a Washington 'war

room' for the account and will be handling a full range of PR, including

public affairs, consumer relations and employee communications.
