Red Consultancy gets to Live It Up in Singapore

The Red Consultancy has scooped a two-year retainer account with

the Singapore Tourism Board to help boost visitor numbers.

The win marks the first of its kind for the agency, which was hired

following a four-way competitive pitch.

Red principal director David Fuller will head the account, leading a

team of four, and reporting to Singapore Tourism Board's UK regional

director Nicholas Kao.

The Tourism Board has hired Red to handle all consumer, trade and

business-to-business PR in the UK, Ireland and the Benelux

countries.

'Our task is to develop creative initiatives that support the Singapore

Tourism Board's new Live It Up campaign,' said Fuller.

'There are a large number of transitional visitors who travel across

Asia and pass through Singapore, so we are aiming to diminish some of

that transitional element and encourage people to stay longer.'

Red replaces four-year incumbent Kable PR, which unsuccessfully

re-pitched.

There were 400,000 UK visitors to Singapore in 1999. Over the last four

years the number of UK tourists to the country has increased by 30 per

cent.
