Sports and consumer specialist Paul Ridley has been called in for the exciting task of promoting the Miss Essex 2012 event.

Ridley launched the competition with a photoshoot and drinks reception at TopGolf in Chigwell, where the grand final will be held next March. According to Ridders this is 'a great venue', because Chigwell is the 'spiritual home of the Essex Girl ... white stilettos and dancing round handbags started here'. Kaizo head of digital Neil Hallmark knows how to treat a girl. His romantic marriage proposal, which involved wearing a T-shirt with the words 'Carla Jones will you marry me' emblazoned across it, has resulted in him being shortlisted in the 'Britain's most romantic groom' competition run by Brides magazine. He is up against a bloke who put his proposal of marriage on a padlock and another who proposed near his girlfriend's father's ashes.
