Public Sector: The Public Sector Week

- Oldham Borough Council has promoted Shelley Kipling and Carl Marsden to become joint interim heads of comms. Kipling was formerly head of internal comms and publications, while Marsden was formerly senior media and comms officer.

- Basildon Council interim head of comms Cormac Smith has welcomed the news that the BBC will apologise over The One Show news clip, broadcast on 14 February, which was found to be biased towards the Dale Farm travellers. Basildon's comms team lodged a series of complaints with the BBC about a five-minute piece that featured an interview with a traveller.

- Forster has won a competitive pitch for a three-year project to help promote the Our Land tourism initiative in the South East of England.

- East Renfrewshire Council has launched a campaign to attract business and investment to the region, as well as promoting the area as a great place to live, work and visit. The campaign, A Place to Grow, is being backed by East Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce.
