AFME snaps up Gowers

Andrew Gowers, the former Financial Times editor, is joining the investment banking trade body, Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), as strategic comms consultant.

Gowers, who in recent years has been comms chief at crisis-hit Lehman Brothers and BP, reports to chief executive Simon Lewis. He has signed a three-month contract while the AFME looks to find a full-time replacement for comms director Rob McIvor. McIvor left recently to join London First.

'Andrew has edited one of the greatest papers in Europe and recently been in some very interesting situations,' Lewis told PRWeek. 'He will help us with building our profile and key messages in Paris, Berlin and Frankfurt'.
