Big news from Siren PR. A press release announces that the travel PR agency has rebranded 'to better reflect the wider range of services it is now undertaking for clients'.

Trumpeting the name change, founder Rachel O'Connor enthuses: 'This evolution really reflects the skills-set that we now have within the agency.' And Siren PR's exciting new name? Er, Siren Communications ... Not to be outdone, the British Retail Consortium this week sent out a press release headlined: 'Fule duty rises would do double damage.' Flack has seen a few typos over the years, but has it ever been done in the first word of a release? ... Congrats to Precise Media's Kristina Andriotis who, we learn via The Sun, is expecting a child next month with footie legend Teddy Sheringham. The Currant Bun did not provide details of Kristina's job, other than to describe her as a 'PR girl'. But the tabloid made amends by describing her as Teddy's 'striking partner'. Puntastic ... Finally, the Communicative Relations Awards from PR Professionals (CRAPPs) are back! The awards, devised by PR agency 10 Yetis, celebrate 'the uniquely frosty relationship PR people and journalists share'. New categories include the most 'fanciable journalist', alongside old fave 'most likely to tell you to sling your hook' award. Nominations are open until 30 November, with the results to be unveiled on 15 December ...
