Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Labour MP John Mann has called on government departments to disclose details of meetings that their ministers, officials and advisers have had with representatives of Bell Pottinger Group.

Mann has tabled a series of questions in the House of Commons, following the news that Communities Secretary Eric Pickles did not register a private dinner with Bell Pottinger Public Affairs. The Bassetlaw MP asked for details of all meetings in the past five years and 'what was discussed'.

BAA has appointed a former head of corporate relations at the Office of the Rail Regulator as head of public affairs. Nick O'Hara has taken the post on an interim basis.

Tetra Strategy has hired Ellie Gellard, an aide to shadow chancellor Ed Balls, as head of digital.

A prolific tweeter, Gellard has advised Balls on digital comms since working on his Labour leadership campaign last year.

Arthritis Research UK has recruited Cancer Research UK's public affairs manager Tracey Loftis to a newly created head of policy and public affairs role.

EurActiV, the European Union affairs portal, has hired Ian Hall as UK public affairs director. Hall is editor of monthly title Public Affairs News.
