Journalista has been appointed by the new online social care marketplace, My Care Umbrella. The site aims to become a key player in social care by investing in an online social care marketplace. Journalista won the account following a competitive pitch, and will work on the launch of My Care Umbrella, as well as handling PR and public affairs throughout the year.

Open Road has recruited Andrew Hobson as associate director of its healthcare practice. Hobson was previously associate director at Insight Public Affairs, where he specialised in health and social care policy. He joins Open Road after a year studying at New York University for a master's degree in public administration.

Abchurch has won a brief with Medgenics, which develops technology to produce proteins that treat patients suffering from anaemia, hepatitis C and haemophilia. The agency will work on a corporate and financial brief to raise the firm's profile within the life science, healthcare and financial press.
