McGarahan has been brought in by Umeco CEO Andrew Moss to advise on financial and corporate comms and help communicate the group's equity story to the City following the sale of its supply-chain business, Pattonair, in the summer.

The company, which supplies composite materials to the aerospace and defence industries, wind energy and automotive industries, uses Tulchan Communications to support financial comms.

Umeco clients include Boeing, Airbus, BAE, Formula 1 teams and a number of manufacturers of high-performance cars.

McGarahan will help manage the group's interims results presentation on 8 November and he is then charged with creating a financial comms strategy for the company.

McGarahan commented: ‘Umeco is one of the global leaders in its field, with customers from Boeing to major F1 teams. It has a clear strategy and we need to educate and communicate its exciting growth plans to its key stakeholders.’
