Foreign and Commonwealth Office targets EU comms

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is launching a campaign during November to raise awareness of the need for more UK comms people to apply for jobs in the European Union's civil service.

The FCO is holding an event on 16 November that is being supported by the Minister for Europe, David Lidington. It will feature a panel of guest speakers including EU Commission head of press Claire Hewitt, and head of comms, partnerships and networks Antonia Mochan. The FCO will promote the campaign with case studies including those of Hewitt and Mochan.

The campaign will be supported during the coming months with activities including an EU Careers Month next February and a microsite, as well as a Facebook campaign being launched by the European Personnel Selection Office.
