Comms revamp as Philharmonic PR chief resigns

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is to restructure its

communications following the resignation of PR chief Sara Lom.

Deputy MD Lom, who heads the orchestra's five-strong comms and marketing

team, is leaving to become the Royal Parks Agency's first director of

public affairs.

She has been with the orchestra for six years and reports to MD Ian

Maclay.

He said her departure presents an opportunity to incorporate

communications and marketing into an ongoing management review.

'I joined last month and want to use this time to look at marketing and

communications, along with all areas of the orchestra's management,'

said Maclay.

In her newly-created role at the RPA, Lom will co-ordinate all internal

and external communication, sponsorship, publications and strategic

PR.

Taking up the post in June, Lom will report to RPA chief executive

officer Will Weston. The body currently has just one press and PR

officer, Tom Corby, who will report to Lom.
