JDRF hosts 'Type 1 Parliament' diabetes event

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation has launched a competition to give 60 adults and children with Type 1 diabetes the chance to tell MPs and government officials about the issues and challenges they face.

Next April, the JDRF is hosting its flagship lobbying event, Type 1 Parliament, at the Houses of Parliament in an effort to secure government funding into Type 1 medical research and to drive diabetes up the political agenda.

JDRF director of policy and comms Sarah Johnson said: 'The Type 1 Parliament event will give children, adults and families affected by this condition an opportunity to tell the Government and other decision makers about the personal impact of Type 1 diabetes and raise awareness of the condition.'

The charity is asking people to get involved by entering a competition to show how they are dedicated to raising awareness of Type 1 with their MP and in the media.
