Olympus Optical sets Third Planet youthful PR brief

Olympus Optical has appointed Third Planet International to consult

on youth marketing for its digital camera products.



Third Planet was appointed without a pitch and its brief is to 'build

credibility through the benefits of digital technology,' said account

manager Chris Dawson, who leads a team of three on the year-long initial

contract.



'Our role is about generating endorsement recommendation and the right

associations within key segments of youth culture such as clubs,

board-sports, fashion and the music business,' said Dawson, who will

report to OOC communications manager Sara Cubitt.



'Third Planet have been given a fluid brief.' said Cubitt. 'The youth

market is about a mind set, not a date of birth, and they have an

excellent grasp of this,' she added.



The OOC retains Herald Communications for its technical PR and Freud

Communications for consumer PR.
