Fleishman-Hillard lands TQ3 Travel Solutions brief

Fleishman-Hillard has been appointed to handle worldwide promotions

for TQ3 Travel Solutions, a global business travel firm composed of

three existing companies in the corporate travel field.

The firm, which was created by the merger of Maritz Travel Company, TUI

Business Travel and Internet Travel Group, has joint annual sales in

excess of pounds 6bn and operates 1,300 offices across 53 countries, and

will embark on a three-month programme of rebranding.

F-H director Matt Fearnley attributed the merger to the realisation that

the firms 'could do things better and differently from the current

players in the market if they were bigger'.

The firm already has an established customer base among blue-chip firms

from its previous incarnations, and is looking to expand its operation

in other business travel sectors.

F-H overcame pitches from three other agencies to win the six-figure

brief (incorporating fees and expenses).

F-H had not previously worked for any of the constituent companies, and

is the only agency retained by the firm.

The agency will spearhead the global launch of the brand and handle

internal rebranding, reporting to COO Toby Joseph. Research and

evaluation will be handled in-house by F-H, which is instigating a

system described as 'qualitative rather than quantitative'.

F-H's European operation has already doubled in size this year with the

acquisitions of GPC and Herald Communications (PRWeek, 2 February).
