Spreckley will also cover the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions for the non-profit global consortium in a b2b remit.

The Green Grid is made up of companies, government agencies and educational bodies who work together to promote greener, more efficient technology.

The agency will target policy makers, the IT community and business and sustainability professionals to publicise Green Grid’s aim to promote greener, more efficient technology.

The Green Grid marketing committee chair Michelle O’Brien said: ‘We want Spreckley to help position us as a global authority on resource efficient data centres and business computing ecosystems.

‘We now have an agency that can help us create strategic campaigns around EU legislation and give us the capability to lobby for new legislation across Europe.’

Spreckley Partners will manage The Green Grid’s PR, marketing and communications efforts across EMEA, working closely with the organisation’s US-based lead marketing comms agency Weber Shandwick.

The Green Grid was founded in 2006 by tech industry heavyweights including IBM, Hewlett-Packard and Dell.

Other member partners include Microsoft, Facebook, Google and eBay.
