TVTimes is being relaunched in an effort to make it more relevant to the multi-platform TV age.

From 3 October, the IPC listings guide promises a daily digital listings page, a new design and a more opinionated outlook.

Editor-in-chief Peter Genower said that 40 per cent of readers had satellite, cable or digital packages. 'The magazine is seeking a much stronger flavour,' he said. 'It will be younger and brighter.'

Along with a new design there will be a new-look film section and a TV sports diary page.

'Since the launch of TV Choice the listings market has redrawn itself,' Genower said. 'We are positioning ourselves in the quality, popular area of the market.'

One of TVTimes' main rivals, BBC Worldwide's Radio Times, has announced it is to extend its brand by providing TV listings and content for ONdigital's new internet service, ONnet.
