Stamford Associates, the investment consultancy, has brought in MHP Communications as PR adviser. The agency will work with Stamford's senior management team, including recent appointments Sir Mark Weinberg and Wendy Mayall.

Brunswick partner Kevin Byram is to retire at the end of the month. He joined Brunswick in 1992, subsequently working on corporate reputation programmes and leading comms on a number of M&A transactions.

Yell Group, the directories company, has called in Finsbury to handle financial PR. The account was previously held by Citigate Dewe Rogerson.

Grayling has handed Mary Whenman the permanent role of MD of its corporate and financial practice. She will jointly run the business with Jonathan Shillington, having covered for Louise Ballard during her maternity leave. Ballard will return at the end of the year as director of business development, corporate and financial.

VMA Group, the recruitment consultants, has hired Nina Arnott to head the external comms practice across its London and Manchester offices. Most recently, she was interim European director of comms for McDonald's.
