INTERNATIONAL: BORDER LINES - Cordiant Comms Group buys up PPR

SYDNEY: Cordiant Communications Group, under CEO Michael Bungey, has snapped up the number two independent PR agency in Australia, PPR. The global marketing communications giant, which also owns London PR firm Financial Dynamics and Morgen-Walke Associates in the US after its takeover of Lighthouse Global Network in July (PR Week, 7 July), acquired the agency for an undisclosed sum. According to PR Week's global rankings, PPR recorded income of nearly pounds 3.5 million last year. The firm's income rose 48 per cent over the past year.
