PUBLIC SECTOR: Long chosen as Darby replacement at WRVS

Dianne Long, former head of corporate communications at Powergen, has joined the Women's Royal Voluntary Service as director of volunteering and communications. Reporting to WRVS chief executive Gerry Burton, she replaces Louise Darby who left in June to join marketing communications agency FLCS. Long, who was most recently a freelance consultant in the voluntary sector, will head a team of 54 people, covering areas including internal and external communications, marketing and public affairs, as well as handling the promotion and recruitment of volunteers.
