The John Lewis Partnership has appointed Citigate Smarts to help raise the profile of its three stores in Scotland.
The appointment, after a six-way pitch, is part of a pounds 300 million makeover by the JLP as it transforms itself into a single, easily recognisable high street name. Stores operating within the partnership but under different names are expected to change to the single brand identity during the focus drive, headed by newly appointed head of press and PR, Helen Dickinson.
'This is the first time the JLP has appointed an external consultancy in Scotland to assist with implementing a PR programme,' said Dickinson, who joined the partnership from Waitrose earlier this month.
MD of Citigate Smarts, Flora Martin, will head the account, reporting to Dickinson. She will direct operations from the agency's Glasgow office and lead a team of six to implement a strategic consumer campaign to raise awareness of JLP's stores in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
