The Prime Minister's Office and the Cabinet Office has appointed COI interactive director Nick Jones as interim head of digital. Jones will continue his work at the COI, while also overseeing digital comms at Number 10. The move comes after the COI was earmarked for closure in June following a major shake-up of government comms.

Eastbourne Borough Council has reappointed Cobb PR for a brief to handle corporate PR, subject to contract. This follows a seven-strong pitch process revealed last week.

Glasgow City Council has called in Budge PR to handle a £135,000 brief to promote the International Financial Services District and Creative Clyde districts.

Northamptonshire County Council head of comms Faye Scadden has been made redundant. The running of the comms department has been handed to comms manager Simon Deacon.

Dacorum Borough Council says it is the first to use QR codes, designed to be read by smartphones, for electoral registrations.
