Sophie Orlando will head Activision’s latest Call of Duty launch after working on rival series Battlefield Bad Company at EA.
The move comes as Activision and EA go head to head with the launches of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 respectively. Battlefield is released in the UK on 28 October, while Call of Duty hits shelves two weeks later.
Orlando officially leaves EA at the end of this week after being put on gardening leave.
She joins Activision’s vice-president of European marketing & shared services Ian McGregor, who also joined from EA earlier this year.
Last year, Call of Duty: Black Ops sold more than 25 million units. EA’s Battlefield Bad Company 2, sold more than five million.
