Marcus is to leave Lucre Social in September to help Brando develop its digital expertise.

Brando managing partner Paul Lucas said: ‘Jono is a significant hire for the agency. We have made great strides in developing our digital capabilities and he will be instrumental in helping us take them to the next level.

‘His experience in running and measuring the effectiveness of the digital elements of our campaigns, both domestically and internationally, is exactly what we and our clients need as we move forward.’

Marcus will work on digital accounts such as 3 Mobile, while also consulting across the agency's client base.

He joined Lucre last July, with a remit to launch its digital division. He joined from Cake, where he was head of digital comms.

Marcus has formerly worked at Hill & Knowlton as a PR account manager.

In January, Unilever enlisted Lucre Social to carry out a 'fishing exercise' using social media to find out what consumers think of brands such as Flora and Becel.
