PUBLIC SECTOR: Brent councillors boost comms budget

The London Borough of Brent is to spend an extra pounds 250,000 on communications and is restructuring its PR team. Pascoe Sawyers, previously Brent's Wembley PR manager, becomes the council's first corporate communications manager, while communications officer Elise Reuben takes on the newly-created role of web communications officer. Four specialist communications officer posts, in the areas of social services, education, arts and libraries, environmental services and housing are yet to be filled. Director of communications Marina Pirotta continues to head the team, reporting to chief executive Gareth Daniel.
