Harrison Cowley will undertake a St George's Day campaign to promote Charles Wells' beer brand, Bombardier English Premium Bitter.

It is the first time the independent, family brewery has hired a PR agency.

Harrison Cowley consumer director Alan Twigg will head the account, reporting to PR manager Sarah Garner and commercial director Nigel McNally.

Glaswegian Twigg, who wore tartan trousers for the pitch, said: 'Bombardier is about some quintessentially English attributes and once you start to really consider what makes the English English, you open up some exciting opportunities for campaignable activities.'

The campaign will use Bombardier's 'the Patron Pint of England' strapline to highlight its association with England's national day - 23 April.

An ad campaign will be run by Team Saatchi. Bombardier's packaging was redesigned last year, to reflect its brand values.
