The company is a dominant telecoms force in Australia, providing managed network solutions across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa and the Americas.

Oglivy beat a host of global PR firms to secure the brief.

Telstra head of marketing for international Melissa Brown told PRWeek: ‘We have enjoyed a long and very successful relationship with Nelson Bostock Communications supporting our operations in the EMEA market.

‘The appointment of Ogilvy is a result of a refocus of our business, which meant we needed PR support with an on-the-ground presence in multiple markets worldwide.’

The change of tack will see Telstra work with Ogilvy to position itself as a global leader outside of Australia.
