Taking up his new role in August, he will become vice-president, media relations, campaigns and digital in the Unilever global comms team.
He was previously senior director, strategy and communications at the OFT, which has promoted Paul Latham to the role of comms director after Wyld’s departure.
Latham is currently OFT head of external relations and will add marketing and campaigns, online and internal comms to his current media and stakeholder relations remit.
Wyld joined the OFT in 2007 as comms director from Fishburn Hedges, where he was a board director. He also worked as a speechwriter for now deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats Simon Hughes and as director of communications at the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority.
Latham will take on his new role from 27 July. He joined the OFT in 2008 from his role as head of news at the CBI. He has also worked for the Strategic Rail Authority and the Countryside Alliance.
