PUBLIC SECTOR: Gilheany to revamp image of kids charity

Children's charity Sports Aiding Medical Research for Kids (Sparks) has appointed Peter Gilheany as head of PR. Gilheany, reporting to chief executive John Shanley, joins from the Community Service Volunteers (CSV), where he was a PRO. One of his main tasks will be to revamp Sparks' image by expanding its profile beyond sports media. The charity, which is ten years old, raises funds for medical research by involving personalities such as Steve Redgrave and Tim Henman. Gilheany will be assisted by press officer Katie Miller.
