The London Business School has appointed Lorna Macleod as director of communications.

The London Business School has appointed Lorna Macleod as director of communications.

She replaces Helen Ross who joins the Notting Hill Housing Group in the newly-created role of group director of strategy and marketing.

Macleod is promoted from her role as director of corporate relations at the school. Her replacement is yet to be announced.

She joined the LBS last year after previously working as PR and marketing director at the International Bar Association for seven years. She has also worked as a consultant for Grandfield corporate communications.

She will be responsible for a 15-strong team and oversee the running of the website and print publications as well as all public relations and events work.

Macleod reports to LBS deputy dean Jeffrey Defries.

'Lorna has a proven track record in profile raising and extensive international experience,' said Defries.

Ross is the second senior manager to leave the school this year. Last month dean John Quelch announced his resignation. The school is currently undergoing a selection process to replace him.

The school was founded in 1965 and is looking to expand its international work. It offers a range of business courses as well as analysis of management practice.

Ross said: 'We have already done a lot of work internationally in terms of PR and that will definitely be an area Lorna will be looking to build on.'
