MacLaurin lands brief to promote Heat gala dinner

MacLaurin has won a six-week, five-figure fee contract to publicise Heat magazine's gala dinner and celebrity auction on 14 March.

MacLaurin has won a six-week, five-figure fee contract to publicise Heat magazine's gala dinner and celebrity auction on 14 March.

The event aims both to raise pounds 250,000 for Aids charity Cruisaid and raise awareness of the emap title. Celebrities expected to appear include Madonna, who is donating a bed for auction, Victoria Beckham and Elton John.

MacLaurin group media director Ian Monk will head the account. He said MacLaurin would undertake a major media campaign, publicising individual donations as well as the event itself.

There was no competitive pitch. MacLaurin worked on the launch of Heat, as well as Red, Elle and New Woman.

It is understood that ABC figures out this week will show a dramatic increase in Heat's circulation.

- MacLaurin has also won a four-way pitch for the Disney Channel Kids Awards, to be held in September. Fees are worth six figures, and associate director Keeley-Anne Kelly heads the account.
