What is it good for?
It's great to escape the hurly-burly of the M4 silicon corridor for the serenity of lunch with technology clients in an old coaching inn, in painter Stanley Spencer's home village. It's also particularly good as an alternative to the usual sandwich in front of the keyboard.
Anything from the Josper Grill - a sort of indoor barbeque also found at the Savoy Grill - or a roast from the rotisserie.
Who's the boss?
The restaurant was recently bought and refurbished by restaurant entrepreneurs Joel Cadbury and Ollie Vigors, famous for once co-owning such iconic London venues as The Groucho Club and The Admiral Codrington.
There's something for everyone, including a 'bar and garden' menu with everything from thrice cooked chips to the utterly delicious board of Serrano ham with grilled Padron peppers or Cornish whitebait.
What's the damage?
A two-course lunch will cost £13 plus drinks, while the bar and garden menu starts at just £3.
