Allianz Worldwide Care appoints Grayling for pan-European brief

Grayling has won a pan-European brief from a company within Allianz Group, after ceasing to work on a different piece of the group's PR last year.

Allianz Worldwide Care has appointed Grayling to manage its pan-European comms programme.

Allianz Worldwide Care, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Allianz Group, specialises in providing international health insurance.

This follows Allianz Insurance, the UK division of Allianz Group, switching its retained corporate PR account to Consolidated PR last November, from two-and-a-half year incumbent Grayling, which did not repitch for the business.

Grayling was selected following a three-way pitch. This is the first time that Allianz Worldwide Care has used an agency.

Allianz Worldwide Care director of sales, marketing and operations Claude Daboul said that it was important to appoint an agency whose ‘ethos and standards mirrored those of Allianz Worldwide Care’s’.  

Daboul added: ‘In addition, Grayling was clearly able to demonstrate its intrinsic understanding of our industry and our markets and we are confident that the team will develop both creative and sound communications strategies that will help to drive the continued growth of our business.’

Grayling CEO Michael Murphy added: ‘We are in a unique position in that we are able to draw on the expertise of our local market offices, enabling us to roll out effective global campaigns whilst being mindful of local conditions and trends.’

With the new piece of business, the agency will focus on UK, French, Dutch and Swiss markets, and will co-ordinate out of its office in Dublin.
