City & Corporate: Nationwide shakes up PR

Nationwide has reorganised its comms function as corporate affairs boss Maxine Taylor leaves the UK's largest building society.

Taylor, divisional director, corporate affairs, is understood to have left the business last month as part of a restructure that has seen Nationwide merge its corporate affairs and HR functions.

Graeme Hughes has become group director, HR and corporate affairs, with head of external affairs Alan Oliver reporting to him. Hughes also has overall responsibility for CSR and internal dialogue.

Taylor, who told PRWeek she was having a break before taking up a new role, joined Nationwide in early 2008, having spent almost three years as an executive board director at Cancer Research UK.

She has formerly worked at Eli Lilly, British Heart Foundation and the Cabinet Office.
