City & Corporate: CFA UK calls in Smithfield

The UK arm of the global not-for-profit body for investment professionals, CFA Institute, has called in Smithfield in a bid to step up comms activity.

Smithfield won the account after a competitive pitch process and will aim to build up the profile of the society and communicate its agenda.

CFA UK, which has a membership of more than 9,000 front office investment professionals, fights for high educational and ethical standards in the investment profession.

Will Goodhart, chief executive of CFA UK, said: 'Smithfield's appointment is an indication of our intent to take a more active approach to communicating our public interest mission and the benefits of the investment profession.'

The body is best known for administering the Chartered Financial Analyst exam programmes and curriculum worldwide.
