Media giant Time has promoted its TIME Magazine PR director Emma Gilpin to a dual role as director of public affairs for the Time and Fortune Group across EMEA.
She will oversee a brand awareness campaign later in 2001, which aims to change readership demographics - especially in Europe - by targeting a younger audience.
'The aim is to raise the Time and Fortune brands to the status they enjoy in the US,' said Gilpin, who joined the group last July. Along with PRO Judith Hewitt, Gilpin will oversee PR and PA operations for both publications, with an emphasis on FORTUNE.
Gilpin, who last month hired Biss Lancaster, has plans to enlarge the company's in-house PR department in the longer term. She reports to the president of the Time and Fortune Group in Europe, Wil Merritt.
'My aim is to see a copy of FORTUNE on every CEO's desk and in every company waiting room across the continent,' said Gilpin.
