PUBLIC SECTOR: Lewisham Council creates e-PRO role

Demonstrating its belief that the internet is an important communications tool in local government, Lewisham Council in London has created a web manager post within its PR division. The post-holder will take charge of the day-to-day management of the web as a communications tool and will have a brief to increase the council's usage of the internet to provide information about its services. Overseeing a team of two new media officers, the web manager will report to head of communications Fiona Nicol. The new media sector has been created following an 18-month review of the council's entire communications operation.
