The task force was recently launched at 10 Downing Street and endorsed by the Prime Minister David Cameron.

It is led by leading professionals from the public and private sector, including those from internal communications and HR, and aims to help organisations join forces to motivate UK employees.

Wilson said of her appointment: 'This is a privilege and an honour. I look forward to furthering the debate and contributing to an area of communications I feel particularly passionate about.'

Collaborating with academics and think-tanks, the task force will look to build on the report 'Engaging for Success', which David MacLeod and Nita Clarke produced for the Government in 2009.

The CIPR hopes Wilson's appointment will help employee communications be recognised as a key enabler to employee engagement.
