SHANGHAI: Ogilvy PR has lost a key managing director in its China network, 15-year company veteran Ruby Fu, who most recently managed the Shanghai office.
Fu decided to leave earlier this year to become managing director at Taiwanese dance company Cloudgate - the company she worked for before joining Ogilvy in 1985.
Ogilvy regional president Matthew Anderson said the Shanghai MD post will be filled internally, most likely from among Ogilvy's US offices.
He said plans are in place to promote a recently-appointed senior consultant from its public affairs practice, Michael Lu, to the role of general manager.
Fu will retain an advisory role to the Greater China network as chairman emeritus, said Anderson. 'Ruby has achieved just about everything that was asked of her,' he said.
During her 15-year tenure at the agency, she established both the Taiwan and Hong Kong offices.
