The takeaway sandwich franchise has appointed the Bell Pottinger company to develop a national PR strategy from a shortlist of six agencies.

Good Relations will work in tandem with Subway's ad agency McCann Erickson and brand agency Momentum.

Incumbent McKenna Townsend will continue to handle some national and regional PR support.

The request for credentials stated: 'The focus will be on consumer-facing activity, running the day-to-day press office and crisis and issues management at a national (not regional nor local) level.'

Agency selection firm AAR handled the pitch process.
