The guide, entitled Good Books for Tough Times, helps parents and teachers choose the right story books for children who are facing difficulties such as bereavement, bullying or family break-up.

Bottle PR founder and director Claire Cairns said: ‘We thoroughly support its values of promoting good mental wellbeing for children and are looking forward to launching the guide and addressing this important subject.’

Bottle PR will focus on launching the guide to the UK national media, as well as to consumer parenting titles. The brief also includes boosting brand awareness for the charity. The agency is offering 50 per cent of its time for free during the six-week project.

A total of 118 books have been independently chosen, and are reviewed in two separate guides – one aimed at 5- to 8-year-olds and one at 9- to 12-year-olds.
