NSC wants to showcase the scientific expertise in Newcastle and the wider region, particularly in the three specific areas of sustainability, stem cell research and ageing and health.
The brief calls for agencies to ‘position Newcastle and the wider region as a place where entrepreneurs and science-based SMEs are offered innovative and unique business support in a collaborative landscape’.
The brief also calls for agencies that can attract potential investors and property developers to consider
the Science Central site, the Institute for Ageing and Health, and the International Centre for Life as potential locations in which to base and expand their organisations.
The successful agency will have the task of securing coverage in regional media, while increasingly targeting national and trade press titles.
The agency will work closely with the head of marketing and comms to develop a PR strategy for the 2011/12 year and then oversee delivery of this programme.
The contracts will start in April and run until the end of March 2012.
