Rance, who was formerly vice-chair, recently labelled Government proposals to limit council publications to four a year ‘absurd’.

Camden Borough Council comms account manager Ashley Wilcox has stepped down from chairing the group after two years, but remains on the committee as ‘past chair’.

Wilcox said of the changes: ‘The committee is committed to helping comms professionals with advice, assistance and access to best practice during what continues to be a difficult time for local public services.’

Bristol City Council service director of comms and marketing Peter Holt,  and Monmouthshire County Council comms manager Robert Webb,  are now vice-chairs of the CIPR.
