Pegasus to handle cat brief

Bayer has brought in healthcare specialist Pegasus to work on a consumer PR brief for the animal health team. The agency will promote cat-worming treatment Profender and run a creative campaign aimed at communicating the importance of worming cats.

Burson-Marsteller has appointed freelancer Deborah Burrage to its UK healthcare team as an account director. Before freelancing, Burrage worked at Innovex Medical Communications. She will help build up the scientific comms arm of B-M's business.

Helen of Troy, the personal appliance manufacturer, has called in Leeds-based brand comms agency Clearsilver to handle PR for three of its major brands - electrical haircare for Vidal Sassoon, personal health and wellbeing lines from Scholl and the electrical hair-removal range from Veet. The agency will also launch activities for two new brands.

The ABSW Science Writers' Awards for Britain and Ireland are open for entry after being re-established last year with support from Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development. The closing date for entries is midnight on 4 April.
