Les Bordes Golf International plans to create a luxury resort in the heart of the Loire Valley, and has called in comms help to publicise the venture.

The site already hosts Europe’s best golf course, as voted by Golf World Magazine, and the UK owners of Les Bordes plan to create a multi-million-pound residential resort on the land.

The Les Bordes Estate will be membership-only at a cost of €1m each – and will aim to attract some of the world's richest individuals to buy homes there.

McGarahan said: ‘It's a fantastically project to win and one which has a significant international dimension. Given the prestigious nature of the Les Bordes brand, this cannot be your run-of-the-mill PR; what I'll be doing is aimed at a defined and targeted group and we must deploy a campaign that befits that of the leading international luxury brands.

‘Those who join will be members of the world's most exclusive private country estates. The opportunity to have a home on the Les Bordes Estate, in what will be the most prestigious residential developments in Europe, is an investment in an extraordinary lifestyle.’

McGarahan has built a career as an independent PR adviser to leading global corporate and private companies since 2002 after a 20-year career with major companies in senior in-house PR roles.

He headed comms at Bradford & Bingley through its nationalisation and recently acted for new owners taking over Charlton FC in January, which is now retained by CAFC Holdings on an ongoing basis.
