radio station on 31 January. Life, aimed at informed adults with

contemporary tastes, will be broadcast on Digital One, the UK’s national

Life is the capital group’s first national station.

Capital FM early morning presenter Paul Phear has been recruited to

present Life’s breakfast show. The show will be live and will run over

four hours, from 6am to 10 am.

Capital’s digital programme controller, Pete Simmons, will oversee the

breakfast show as part of his role. He was programme controller on

Capital FM for three years until December 1999.

He said the breakfast show’s content would be slanted towards women and

include: ’A lot of showbiz, records, films, theatre, even the big events

on TV.’ The show will also cover lifestyle and technology, particularly

new product launches.
