global healthcare managing director. Her appointment reflects the

agency’s desire to focus on healthcare as one of its key practice

areas.

Ann Moravick has worked for MS&L for 12 years, most recently as director

of the US healthcare team.

In her new role, Moravick will be responsible for coordinating global

healthcare activities for clients including the American Medical

Association and Pharmacia and Upjohn. She reports to new chairman and

CEO, Lou Capozzi.

’This focused practice structure begins the evolution of our firm from a

strictly geographic-based organisation to a collaborative management

structure,’ said Capozzi.

’Office managing directors will share responsibility for the growth and

success of our firm with global practice managers,’ he said.

Capozzi was promoted to MS&L’s top job last week, replacing Kirk

Stewart, who is to join Nike as vice-president of corporate

communications.

Moravick will work with a 12-strong team around the world, including

Howard Godman, the European healthcare director based in London.

Healthcare accounts for around a third of MS&L’s business. The group

deals with product marketing, corporate reputation management and

advocacy relations for medical equipment, pharmaceutical, OTC and

diagnostic firms.

It also has clients in the fields of managed care and non-profit health

care institutions.

MS&L, the world’s eighth largest PR company, has 15 offices in seven

countries.
