DIARY: Agency battles ginger recruitment conspiracy

Technology PR company Noiseworks has had worrying calls to its Maidenhead office.

Technology PR company Noiseworks has had worrying calls to its

Maidenhead office.

Callers purporting to be from Ginger Media are offering tickets for a

new TFI Friday show, says Noiseworks MD Nick Hayes. They then ask for

full lists of staff to distribute free TFI tickets to.

But it turns out the callers are in fact from a recruitment agency

trying to poach staff.

’If you say you are from a recruitment company you don’t get through the

switchboard. They are now lying to scam their way in,’ complains Hayes,

bitterly.

The callers, claiming to be from Ginger Media, say PR agencies are

chosen because of the good-looking, funky young crew that PR

attracts.

Puzzled, Hayes called Ginger Media to ask what was going on, only to

discover they had made no such calls.

’It is disgusting that recruitment companies are doing this,’ he

rails.

Hayes now wants to start a campaign against such tactics. Anybody

interested?
