WASHINGTON: Ogilvy PR Worldwide has appointed Marcia Silverman to
the newly created post of president of the Americas.
The company already has Asian and European presidents and Silverman’s
appointment - in charge of 650 staff and reporting direct to the
company’s global president and CEO Bob Seltzer - closes the loop.
Working out of Ogilvy’s Washington office, Silverman, with 18 years’
company experience, will travel the continent to strengthen the Ogilvy
’I intend to go to each of our US offices (in Washington, New York, Los
Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Atlanta) at least once a month, to
further strengthen the US network,’ Silverman said.
’Our second priority will be to expand into Canada and Latin America,
specifically Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico,’ she added.
Until last week, Silverman was in charge of Ogilvy’s Washington
Her role will now be taken by Steve Dahllof, who has been with the firm
for 12 years, most recently running its creative unit.
